Outside of New York City, Minneapolis has the most available seats for live theater than any other area. Minneapolis! St. Paul! Right here in our metro area lies a hotbed of theatrical talent. Not only are the Broadway touring shows stopping through town, delighting us with "Defying Gravity" at sold out Wicked runs or electrifying us with "Electricity" at Billy Elliot - But there's great homegrown productions as well. Over 100 performing companies produce hundreds of shows per year. I'm sure you could attempt to see all of them - but why when a finance and theater student has your back? I'll review 1 show per week over the next several weeks and then tell you about the most economical way to enjoy it (matinee, student discounts, last-minute rush policies) so you get the best experience and the cheapest price.
NEXT WEEK: Guthrie Theater - Ma Rainey's Black Bottom
